That is the problem though. If you approach a group and say "Hey you." You get blank looks and people pointing to themselves and saying, "me?" When you really intended you (plural). But no one is going to go around saying "you parenthesis plural" though I wish they would. This dilemma leaves many people to saying things like, "hey guys" which is genderically incorrect.
In short, I don't know why we can't be like Italian and Spanish and have words like voi and vosotros.

"You all" would be redundant. The word "you" can be used in either singular or plural form.
(Don't you love being taught things you already know?)
