Here's my issue: I feel like it might have been better if it WASN'T stop-motion. A very large contributing factor to the brilliance of Wes Anderson films is the superb acting. That does NOT come through very well with this kind of animation. OK, you can go ahead and drown me now. But my last, gurgling words will be, "Doesn't it look at least a LITTLE gimmicky to you, too?"
The stop motion does bother me slightly. But it doesn't feel gimmicky, just kind of makes me dizzy. :p
